Jamestown’s Older Homes and New Subdivisions, Both Squarely Our Work
Jamestown sits right between High Point and Greensboro, and the job shifts a few streets apart: a historic home near the Mendenhall Homeplace one morning, a newer subdivision off Guilford College Road the next. I’m Terrence Vaughn, and since 2013 On 3 Moving has handled both with a W-2 crew on my payroll and 26-ft box trucks I own. Folks here expect their belongings handled right, which is precisely why I built the outfit the way I did: NC household-goods authority through the Utilities Commission, federal US DOT and MC registration, $1M cargo coverage on every job. A flat figure goes in writing before the crew empties a single room.
Old homes near the Homeplace, handled slow
The older homes around the Mendenhall Homeplace and the Oakdale Cotton Mill village carry their years — original woodwork, plaster walls, doorways slimmer than anything built now. Patience isn’t optional. Each piece is padded inside before it shifts an inch, a partner steadies anything heavy down a steep antique staircase, and the fragile pieces earn full wrapping. We lay runners on the floors, foam the door edges, and protect any pinched stair turn before the first piece comes through.
Subdivisions and the Ragsdale streets
Out in the newer subdivisions near Ragsdale High the homes open up, with wider rooms, attached garages, and longer carries. Access is usually clean off a driveway, so the work is mostly distance covered, which I clock when I walk it. Where a cul-de-sac chokes with parked cars I park at the street’s entrance and shorten the protected carry, or send a smaller shuttle up to the door. Either choice is built into the flat figure, never sprung on you afterward.
The figure stays put
You walk away from the estimate with one flat price in writing, and it stands whether a tight subdivision turn steals part of the morning or the day stretches late. There’s no hourly clock, no diesel line appearing once the truck is loaded. Our NC authority pairs with the US DOT and MC registration, and the crew is mine down to the last piece.
